Flowers Around Town in May

Sunday, 17 May 2026

There is very little traffic on Palmyra Corner Road so it is easy for me to pull over

and take pictures of flowers around town. Allium 'Purple Sensation' and

old fashioned bearded iris with lavender standards and deeper purple falls.

Many of the independence shops along Bridge Street in Frenchtown
have attractive planters. I was especially taken with this one which

combines pale and deeper shades of purple flowers with golden foliage.

.

It must be the month for purple. As I was homeward bound

on Tinsman Road I noticed a well established colony of Siberian iris,

Don't know the cultivar. 'Cesar's Brother' would be much deeper darker purple
